چکیده

This paper describes our current research on learning task level representations by a robot through observation of human demonstrations. We focus on human hand actions and represent such hand actions in symbolic task models. We propose a framework of such models by efficiently integrating multiple observations based on attention points; we then evaluate the produced model by using a humanform robot. We propose a two-step observation mechanism. At the first step, the system roughly observes the entire sequence of the human demonstration, builds a rough task model and also extracts attention points (APs). The attention points indicate the time and the position in the observation sequence that requires further detailed analysis. At the second step, the system closely examines the sequence around the APs, and obtains attribute values for the task model, such as what to grasp, which hand to be used, or what is the precise trajectory of the manipulated object. We have implemented this system on a human form robot and demonstrated its effectiveness.

Acquiring hand-action models in task and behavior levels by a learning robot through observing human demonstrations

This paper describes our current research on learning tasks (what to do) and behaviors (how to do it) by a robot through observation of human demonstrations. We focus on human hand actions and represent such hand actions in symbolic behavior and task models. We propose frameworks of such models, derived a method to acquire those models through observation, evaluated them by using a human-form r...

Analysis of Birth Spacing Using Frailty Models

Background and objectives: Birth spacing is an important variable for identification of fertility acceleration, total fertility rate, and maternal and fetal health. Therefore, special attention has been paid to this issue by researchers in the fields of medical sciences, health, and population. In addition, proper analysis of this concept is of foremost importance. Application of classical anal...

Conditional Random Fields for Airborne Lidar Point Cloud Classification in Urban Area

Over the past decades, urban growth has been known as a worldwide phenomenon that includes widening process and expanding pattern. While the cities are changing rapidly, their quantitative analysis as well as decision making in urban planning can benefit from two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) digital models. The recent developments in imaging and non-imaging sensor technologies, s...

The overall efficiency and projection point in network DEA

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the best methods for measuring the efficiency and productivity of Decision Making Units (DMU). Evaluating the efficiency of DMUs which have two or several stages by using the conventional DEA models, is equal to consider them as black box. This method, omits the effect of intermediate measure on efficiency. Therefore, just the first network inputs and t...

Analysis and Study of the Embodiment of Actions from Ibn Arabi's Point of View According to Some Principles of Anthropology and Epistemology

Embodiment of deeds and beliefs in the afterlife is the subject of Islamic verses and narratives, and has long been one of the issues of interest to Muslim scholars. The proof and explanation of this idea by Mulla Sadra caused the religious scholars attention again to that, while the roots of this issue were raised in the works of mystics such as Ibn Arabi and his followers. Mohi al-Din has bee...
